Guided Skinbased Ski Tour in the Winter Landscape of Lake Puruvesi

Discover winter on Lake Puruvesi in a completely new way – on skinbased skis!
Skinbased skis combine some of the best features of traditional forest skis and snowshoes. They are shorter and wider than regular cross-country skis, and the integrated climbing skin underneath the ski provides grip on the snow. They are designed for exploring winter nature beyond prepared ski tracks.
Join us for a two-hour guided adventure through the peaceful winter landscape of Lake Puruvesi. The route is chosen according to the day's snow and weather conditions and the abilities of the group.
We travel at a comfortable pace, enjoying the fresh winter air, the silence of nature and the wide-open scenery of Puruvesi – powered by our own muscles and moving gently through the landscape.
No previous skiing experience is required. Our guides will show you how to use the skinbased skis and how to move safely before we set off. The pace is adjusted to suit the group. This is not about speed or performance – it is about enjoying Finnish winter nature and trying something new.
At the end of the tour, we stop at a traditional Finnish lean-to shelter by Lake Puruvesi. By the open fire, we serve a warm or cold drink and a Karelian snack – a cosy ending to your winter adventure.
Departure and duration: Saturdays at 12:00 noon

Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before departure to allow time for fitting and preparing the equipment.
The total duration of the experience is approximately 2-2,5 hours. The distance and pace depend on the group and the day's snow and weather conditions.

What's included? The price includes skinbased skis, necessary safety equipment, professional guiding and the guides' liability insurance. A warm or cold drink and a Karelian snack by the open fire after the tour are also included.
What should I wear? Dress warmly according to the weather and choose clothing that allows you to move comfortably. We recommend layers and windproof outdoor clothing, as well as a warm hat, gloves or mittens and warm footwear suitable for winter activities.
Group size: The tour operates with a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 5 participants per departure.

Payment can be made in advance through our online shop or at the meeting point by card, MobilePay or cash.
Cancellations and weather conditions: Bookings and cancellations must be made by 6:00 pm on the day before the tour.
Cancellations made at least 7 days before the tour receive a 100% refund.
For cancellations made at least one day before the tour, 90% of the payment will be refunded.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure and no-shows are non-refundable.
Safety and weather conditions always come first. If the snow or weather conditions do not allow us to operate the tour safely, we will first try to arrange another suitable date. If this is not possible, you will receive a full refund.
