Come and enjoy an unforgettable sauna evening in the peace of nature, right on the shores of Lake Orivesi at Lastun Paikat. Our spacious electric sauna offers gentle heat for 10–15 people. From the terrace and the large windows of the living room, you'll enjoy a stunning view directly over the lake – the perfect setting to unwind and be present in the moment.
The sauna includes a dressing room and a terrace where you can cool off or spend quality time together. As evening falls, the glow of the setting sun paints the lake and sky in calming colors, making the experience truly magical.
From the sauna, a wooden path leads directly to the swimming dock – a refreshing dip in the lake water completes the moment. Swimming is possible year-round, as a pump keeps the hole in the ice open during winter.

A Sauna Evening on the Shore of Lake Orivesi
This area was originally built by a former chipboard factory as a company retreat space where important negotiations and meetings were held in true Finnish style – in the sauna. Over time, the buildings have found new life in tourism and recreation. The area includes a 1970s-style representative house, a cozy wilderness hut (kota), a smoke sauna with a turf roof, and a charming underground log bunker. The land and buildings are owned by the City of Kitee and operated by Lakeland Karelia Oy, a local tourism company based in Kitee.
Main House
The sauna evening rental includes access to the main house's lounge and sauna facilities. Bedrooms are reserved for accommodation purposes only and are not included in the rental. The shoreline is shared with any other possible renters. Large panoramic windows offer breathtaking views of the lake, and there's a fireplace at the other end of the living area. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a dishwasher. There are three bedrooms with a total of 8 beds. The house has two toilets. The sauna area includes a dressing room, a spacious shower room with two showers, and a 10–15-person electric sauna. From the sauna, you can access the backyard terrace and walk along a wooden path directly to the dock for a swim.
Rental Time
Starts at 4:00 PM and ends at midnight (00:00).
Cleaning
Final cleaning is not included in the rental price. It will be invoiced when the booking is confirmed.
Private Lakeshore
The dock is located on the property, and a pump keeps the swimming hole open in winter. Diving headfirst is strictly prohibited due to the risk of underwater rocks. The water is about 2-2.5 meters deep at the end of the dock. A peaceful and pleasant place to unwind. All Lastun Paikat renters share the shore and docks.
Additional Rental Options (extra charge):
The Bunker
A cozy log accommodation built into the ground, with one room only. Furnishings include a double sofa bed, fireplace, fridge, kitchen table, wardrobe, rustic benches, and traditional Finnish army metal dishes (mess kits and cups). A small terrace made of natural stones is located in front of the entrance. Bunker guests have access to the lakeshore.
The Turf-Roofed Smoke Sauna
This gentle-heated sauna for 10–15 people includes access to the swimming dock via a wooden path. The additional charge includes heating, firewood, and cleaning. Smoke sauna renters also have lakeshore access.
Lastun Paikat
Puhos is conveniently located near Highway 6. The easiest way to get here is by car.
Payment and Cancellation Policy
The rental must be paid before the premises are handed over. Payment is due no later than two weeks before the start of the rental, unless otherwise agreed.
If the booking is canceled within 48 hours of receiving the booking confirmation or more than 30 days before the rental begins, there will be no cancellation fees.
Other cancellation terms:
More than 30 days before the rental: 90% refund
15–30 days before the rental: 50% refund
0–14 days before the rental: no refund
