A former chipboard factory built this area as representative premises for the company, where important negotiations and meetings were held in the sauna, as was the custom at the time. Over time, the purpose of the buildings has changed and they have turned to tourism and recreational use. The city of Kitee owns the land and buildings. Lastun Paikat is operated by the Kitee tourism company Lakeland Karelia Oy.
Rented Property
The address of Lastun Päätalo is Lepikontie 22, 82430 Puhos. Navigators/Google take you to the wrong place, so turn onto Lepikontie from Highway 6 and drive straight for about 2.5 km until you see signs for Lastun Paikat and number 22 on the left. The rental period starts at 16:00 and the sauna evening ends at midnight on the same day at 14:00. You have access to the Päätalo, parking areas, and the beach. There may be others on the beach, so the jetties and beaches are shared. At the moment, there are no bookings for the Korsu or Savusauna during your booking. The yard area is typical of a heath forest and the different buildings and jetties are connected by duckboards.
Atmospheric Laplander's Hut
is included in the rental price of the sauna evening with firewood. The benches have reindeer hides and table logs for dining. The Hut can comfortably accommodate 10-15 people. Firewood is included in the rent.
Kitchen
The kitchen in the Päätalo is fully equipped. Two tall refrigerators, one with a ½ freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee, and water kettles, 3-liter coffee thermos, dishes and cutlery, and plenty of drinking glasses.
Sauna and Changing Room
The Päätalo has a 10-12-person electric sauna. The electrical cabinet in the changing room has the electric heater controls and instructions.
Additional Spaces
The area also has a peatroof Smoke Sauna and Dugout. If you want to rent these spaces, you can do so in advance in the online store or by calling us.

Atmospheric Dugout 80€/day for additional accommodation or also serves as a party space
Laplander's Hut 50€/night includes space rental and firewood
Cleaning
A final cleaning fee will be charged in connection with the booking, which is 50€ for smaller places and 80€ for larger ones.
Lakeshore
There is a swimming jetty on the lakeshore and in winter a pump keeps the hole in the ice open. Under no circumstances should you jump headfirst into the water from the jetty. The water depth at the end of the jetty is about 1.70-2.30 meters, but there are large stones under the water. There is another jetty near the Savusauna, which we use for enjoying the sun, admiring the evening sun, as a starting jetty for kayaks, for yoga, etc. The area is a pleasant and peaceful place. The beaches belong to Lastun Paikat and are shared by the tenants.
Payment and Cancellation Terms
Payment must be made before handing over the premises to the tenant. The rent is due for payment 2-4 weeks before the start of the rental period unless otherwise agreed.
If an unpaid reservation is canceled within 48 hours of making it or more than 30 days before the start of the rental period, there will be no cancellation fees. Other cancellation terms are as follows:
Cancellations more than 30 days before the start of the reservation: a cancellation fee of 10% of the rent.
Cancellations 15-30 days before the start of the reservation: a cancellation fee of 50% of the rent.
Cancellations 0-14 days before the start of the reservation: no refund.
Generally, travel insurance covers cancellation fees if it is due to a covered event.
Activities and Events
Lakeland Karelia Oy organizes nature trips, program services, and activities throughout the year. For self-initiated activities, you can find equipment at our rental shop. Particularly popular in the summer are beach parties and church boat trips with various themes. In winter, favorites include snowshoeing and kick sled excursions.
