Pyhäjärvi in Karelia is one of the most beautiful and diverse lakes in Finland. Islands, history, culture, activities, fishermen, hunters, rock paintings, the eastern border, desert villages, Suitsa, and much more can be found on this clear-water lake. The shores have magnificent white sandy beaches. Simply a stunning lake that you could wander around all summer.

The Aurora church boat has an atmosphere

The beautifully gliding, wooden Aurora church boat can accommodate 14 rowers, one ship's dog (on the oar's bow seat), and a mate. The trips are relaxed rowing excursions, by no means hard racing. You get to know new people with the same spirit, the aim is to find a common rowing rhythm, group dynamics usually develop in a happy direction with a common goal, fitness improves, and nature thanks you.

Burgers at Papinniemi in Uukuniemi

We set off from Sarvisalo Kutronlahti (Suitsantie 9 59800 Kesälahti) to row by church boat about 8 km to the incredibly beautiful Papinniemi Camping, where delicious burgers are prepared. Before leaving, we order burgers and when we arrive at Papinniemi, delicious burgers are waiting for us. After the meal, there is time to explore Papinniemi and its surroundings or even go for a swim at its incredible beach.

Afterward, we'll head back to Kutronlahti. Total rowing distance about 16 km, total rowing time about 2 hours, and lunch in Papinniemi about 1-1,5 hours. Total duration 3-3,5 hours.

Please prepare for the rowing trip according to the weather and wear clothes in which you are comfortable to go on the rowing trip.

Departure port Kutronlahti

Choose your departure date when booking, we leave from the harbor at 17.00. It is a good idea to arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes in advance for departure preparations. The address of Kutronlahti is Suitsantie 9 59800 Kesälahti. There is a well-marked and spacious parking area where you can park without paying any parking fees.

Rowing trip and the price 40€

The price includes a burger of your choice (drinks are on your own), an oar seat + a boat, the services of a coxswain, a life jacket, and company insurance for the excursions. Weather permitting. Any cancellations must be notified at least 3 hours before departure by SMS or WhatsApp.

You can only book your oar seat here in the online shop and pay with a card or cash at the departure. Bookings can be made by calling us or by Whatsapp/text message. If the excursion is canceled due to weather conditions, we will offer a new date to replace it. Tours will be organized only in good weather conditions.

Papinniemi Camping - introduction
